About The Position
Job Title: RN - Pediatrics Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours (0800-1700) Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care Pediatrics experience; ambulatory clinic experience is strongly preferred but not required. License: RN License required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: EPIC experience is highly preferred. Skills in port access and central venous line draws. Experience in rooming patients and providing discharge education following provider visits. Knowledge of point-of-care testing, such as Rapid Strep, Flu/COVID testing. Description: This position is for an RN specializing in Pediatrics. The primary focus will be in one of two specialty areas: Pediatric Gastroenterology or Pediatric Nephrology. Pediatric Gastroenterology involves treating conditions such as constipation, reflux, G-tube care, IBD, Crohn’s disease, colitis, motility disorders, and TPN-dependent patients. Liver patients may include those pre/post liver transplant and patients with fatty liver disease. Pediatric Nephrology includes care for pre/post kidney transplant, chronic kidney disease, adrenal diseases, and Osteogenesis Imperfecta. Dialysis treatment patients will be seen as follow-ups. The age range of patients is from newborns up to 18 years old, including those transitioning to college. The RN will assist with medication administration, including vaccines and injectable medications. There is an emphasis on general assessment skills and providing care under standing orders. The department features a supportive environment with a clinical leadership team, including nurse managers and clinical supervisors. Peer RNs and medical assistants will assist with patient care and testing. On-site resources include a lab for phlebotomy, dieticians, and social workers. Scheduling is Monday to Friday with no weekend rotations or holiday expectations. Free parking is available.
