Project Manager/Sales Representative Commercial Signage About Us Since opening in 2016, Carolina Custom Signs & Graphics is among the fastest-growing sign companies in the Triad. And we fully intend to maintain that growth rate by venturing into bigger and more complex markets. We design, manufacture and install commercial signage throughout the triad and beyond. Our products include outdoor signage such as monument signs and channel-letter signs, indoor signs like ADA, lobby and wayfinding. We also handle commercial vehicle wraps and specialize in fleets.
We have a great team of sign professionals who collaborate every day to client challenges and for ways to improve our business. Were looking to add this critical position to help us improve business performance and maintain our growth trajectory. While this is a new position for our business, it's also a well-established role. We're looking for an individual who has the talent, enthusiasm, and energy to hop on board and start making a difference!
Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities Communication / Customer Interface: - This is a full time position with remote/on-site flexibility. The expectation is for the position-holder to develop an optimal balance. She/he will be expected to be on-site as-needed to ensure optimal project flow. Since this is a new position, we don't have a expectation for percentage of remote work. Our initial estimate is 8 hours per week at the shop. On a practical level candidates should therefore live within 1 hour of the shop.
- Maintain continuous collaboration with all functional areas of the business to maintain efficient project flow.
- Provide feedback to GM and owner to improve operational performance.
- Participate in visits to client facilities on an as-needed basis.
- Operate as a customer advocate at all times and raise attention to product issues when needed.
Project Management: - Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate all phases of project execution, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their branding needs and translating them into actionable project plans.
- Maintain trust-based, positive client relationships.
- Lead cross-functional teams, including designers, installers, and vendors, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Oversee quality of all signage to ensure company quality standards are maintained.
- Proactively identify potential project threats and develop strategies to mitigate.
- Resolve any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Prepare detailed project status reports and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Review architectural drawings and construction drawings for accuracy and compliance with specifications.
- Facilitate approval processes with customers for site-specific drawings and project estimates.
- Handle proposal, contract, and purchase order management, ensuring all documentation is accurately entered and maintained.
- Implement action plans and change orders as needed to resolve issues and ensure project success.
- Negotiate installation prices to maintain project profitability.
- Monitor production job cost overruns and variances to our budgeted costs.
Billing / Invoicing: - Work with management staff to ensure monthly invoicing of completed projects.
- Review and approve incoming invoices from vendors and subcontractors for payment.
- Assist with resolving any accounts receivable issues and discrepancies.
- Prepare and analyze monthly billing reports to monitor project financials.
Qualifications: - Proven experience in project management within the construction, signage, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of architectural drawings and construction processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software, Asana and Microsoft Office Suite.
- SignAgent and/or Mothernode experience a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Commitment to safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
Additional Requirements: - Availability for occasional travel as required by project needs.
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when necessary.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
