As an Oral Surgery Lead Dental Assistant at Ideal Dental, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional care and support to both our patients and dental team. You’ll be empowered with the training, tools, and resources to advance your career while making a real difference in the lives of those you serve. What You’ll Do:
Lead and guide the oral surgery dental assistant team , ensuring clinical tasks are completed accurately and efficiently throughout the day.
Support the Oral Surgeon during advanced oral surgery procedures .
Master and utilize specialized surgical instruments and advanced technology.
Coordinate patient care and scheduling , helping maintain a smooth and timely surgical workflow.
Mentor and train oral surgery dental assistants , ensuring team members are confident, compliant, and equipped to deliver consistent, high-quality care.
Manage and maintain the inventory of surgical supplies and equipment, ensuring the office is always well-stocked and ready for procedures.
Ensure accurate documentation and record keeping , supporting continuity of care and operational excellence.
Foster a collaborative and professional team culture , encouraging communication, accountability, and ongoing development in surgical care.
Responsibilities
Greeting guests with a smile
Assisting Oral Surgeons with procedures
Sterilizing instruments and setting up trays
Preparing treatment rooms
Assisting with conscious and iv sedation
Performing X-rays
Charting existing and recommended treatments
Performing other duties as required to support the office and oral surgery team
What do you need to have to be a part of our team?
Active Registered Dental Assistant License
Current CPR certification
Minimum of 2 years of specific oral surgery experience
Proven ability to lead a team, delegate tasks, and motivate staff. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are essential
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with the oral surgeon, staff, and patients
Must be willing to travel within assigned areas
