Job Description

Director , Finance Business Services/Orlando

Position Purpose

The Director, Finance Business Services (FBS) is primarily responsible for the end to end (E2E) core business operations including US contracts, set-ups and pricing & invoicing as well as data integrity, and delivery and implementation of Invoice to Cash (I2C) services for the North America (NA) region.

This role will be responsible for leading and executing:

  • Customer Contracts, Setups & Maintenance;
  • Customer Pricing Entry & Maintenance;
  • Monitoring of all Customer Invoicing;
  • Data integrity
  • Manual Billing, including Customer Portals
  • Cash Application
  • Credit Controls
  • Trade Debtor Cash Collections
  • Dispute Process Management

In conjunction with the other FBS Directors, be responsible for management of the vendor relationship with the outsourced Service Provider, ensuring the provision of services are in line with contract obligations and the delivery of services to the business are met.

Drive the transformation of FBS processes through encouraging and supporting a culture of continuous improvement and process standardization within the NA region

Major/Key Accountabilities

  • Oversees and directs Business Operations and I2C management teams for North America to execute customer contracts setup and maintenance, customer pricing set up and maintenance, Customer Invoice including manual billing and customer portals, customer pallet flows reporting, credit controls and cash collection.
  • Leads N America team to identify and execute business process solutions as a result of changes in or expansion of the business model, Strategic Priorities, or any Mergers & Acquisitions including but not limited to new types of Customers, Contracts, Pricing, Invoicing, Services, or Materials.
  • Regional management of trade debtor cash collections (excluding in-dispute debts) to deliver the budget or forecasted collection targets
  • Regional management of bad and doubtful debts; process management of disputed debts.
  • Regional management of retained key account collections, if any.
  • Provides oversight to relationship with off-shore resources, monitors performance & ensures achievement of established KPI targets
  • Ensures appropriate use of resources for engagement with third party P2P providers in alignment with commercial terms and customer relationship objectives, driving efficiencies through systems integration where appropriate
  • Drives continuous improvements across operations, including implementation of automation in alignment with Global Controller initiatives, while ensuring proper controls and compliance requirements are met.
  • Maintains appropriate resource utilization to achieve business objectives, ensuring continuity of services to internal & external customers.
  • Provides consultation to cross-functional business partners on commercial & business initiatives to support successful outcomes.
  • Collaborates across functions on key business initiatives to drive improvements and advance innovation while ensuring appropriate controls & governance in all processes.
  • Ensures departmental adherence to business policies and procedures as well as the controls and compliance of responsibilities; ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient processing which executes CHEP policies.
  • Liaises with CHEP and customer IT departments to suggest improvements to CHEP processes and systems. Works with team of Managers to monitor and coordinate new system developments.
  • Manage the vendors execution and performance of the activities across all Business Units within the NA region. These activities include manual billing, cash application, credit control, trade debtor cash collection and processes, debtor ageing and dispute process management support.

  • Manage teams to Key Performance Indicators that are aligned to strategic business goals. Such as:

System and master data accuracy for over 30,000 accounts

Cash Collection, Aged Debtors and Days Sales Outstanding

Pricing & Invoicing accuracy metrics

Service Level Agreements for over 1K Service Requests annually

Monitor and maintain clean data integrity

  • Completion of process improvements, projects and monitoring tools according to specified deliverables and timelines
  • Timeliness and accuracy of the outsourced Service Provider outputs
  • Maintenance of all processes for ISO certification
  • Employee satisfaction (Glint Survey)
  • Brambles Internal &Audit metrics
  • Quarterly Security Audit and other Brambles and 3rd party Audit performance
  • Cost savings and revenue contributions

Authority/ Decision Making

  • Technical and functional solutions to support business model changes, mergers and acquisitions, including but not limited to: Customers, Plants, and Materials
  • Full People Management responsibilities for Band 1 to Band 3 staff
  • Approval authorities per Brambles and CHEP USA authority matrix
  • Implementation of policies and procedures cascaded from Head Office
  • Input into the metrics and KPI’s to measure E2E performance
  • Input into the outsourced providers & retain team collection targets, for the region

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: University degree preferred
  • Strong Customer Focus orientation
  • Strong computer knowledge and understanding of SAP and Siebel content and capabilities.
  • Strong organization, problem solving, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Project management expertise

Desirable Qualifications

  • Education: Advanced degree highly desirable

Experience

  • 15+ years of progressively increasing responsibility in large, complex, global organizations in Operational, Asset Management, Project Management, or IT leadership roles.
  • 8-10 years in a Leadership role with experience in driving standardization and driving efficiencies
  • Effective collaboration with Sales team to deliver key commercial initiatives
  • Demonstrable evidence of success in a process driven environment where success is dependent on development and adherence to policy, process and guidelines.
  • Demonstrable evidence of success in a complex matrix organization and managing and motivating teams with varied levels of education and skill sets
  • Experience leading organizations through periods of dramatic change, particularly through periods of high growth and uncertainty
  • Technology & IT collaboration experience, including application of know how to solve business issues using technology
  • Experience leading initiative planning, scoping, and executing large scale programs to achieve key business objectives around growth & customer satisfaction
