Superior Skilled Trades is seeking Structural Steel Fabricators for an immediate start in Grand Rapids, MI!

TEMP-TO-HIRE --- WEEKLY PAY --- OVERTIME!

• PAY: $25-$30/hour (based upon experience)
• HOURS: Shifts will be 10-hour workdays, 5 days per week (50-60 hours/week)
• SCHEDULE: Workdays will be Monday-Friday; 5:00am – 3:00 pm
• START DATE: ASAP
• DURATION: Temp-to-Hire

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced  Structural Steel Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in  layout, welding, and fabricating structural steel , including stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel. This position requires a motivated, detail-oriented professional who can perform high-quality fabrication work while maintaining a strong focus on safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate, layout, and assemble structural steel components according to blueprints and specifications.
• Lift, position, and move workpieces from conveyors and bunks for fitting and welding.
• Measure and mark reference points for layout using a tape measure.
• Operate  overhead cranes and rigging equipment to move materials safely.
• Prepare materials by cleaning, grinding, and organizing work areas.
• Perform  MIG and SMAW welding on carbon steel (must be certified or able to become certified).
• TIG welding experience on stainless steel and aluminum is a plus.
• Assist with loading, stacking, and transporting materials and tools.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all company safety procedures.

Requirements:

• 2–3 years of experience in structural steel fabrication and welding (required).
• Must be experienced in  layout, fitting, and fabricating structural steel.
• Welding certification in MIG (GMAW) and SMAW (Stick) or ability to become certified.
• Ability to  read and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Good math, measurement, and analytical skills.
• Must be able to  lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically active environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Must adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean workspace.
• PPE: Must have Steel-toed boots and Must have own welding helmet/gloves.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Must have reliable transportation to the job site.
• Pre-employment drug screen and background check are required.
