The Team
Our team is creating a new cloud-native Financial Crimes Platform to enable the data forensics required to identify and report on potential criminal activity. We focus on delivering end-to-end cloud-native digital solutions where scalability, stability and security are our highest priority. We are obsessed with simplifying complex problems by automating everything and monitoring the right things! As a Java technology lead, you will be applying your strong software development and test automation skills to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve Fidelity customer-facing software solutions.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Passionate about manual and automated testing
- Hands-on automation testing of Java event-based microservices.
- Owns the outcome by taking personal accountability for delivering strong results
- Experience designing and building applications and using test automation frameworks
- Multi-stack engineer with knowledge in a breadth of technologies and test automation frameworks (Java, Groovy, Selenium, Geb, JavaScript/TypeScript, RESTful web services)
- Extensive experience working with Java and its ecosystem
- Passionate about Test Driven Development, developing robust software, writing testable and maintainable code
- Self-directed, willing to take initiative, pragmatic and results-oriented
- Has keen attention to detail and wants to solve problems, not just detect them
- Able to learn large software systems end-to-end quickly
- Keenly interested in learning new technologies and their adoption
- Able to work with remote and international team members.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Use your knowledge of testing and testability to influence better software design, promote accurate software engineering and bug prevention strategies, testability and security
- Actively participate in the development process through writing and maintain application features and automated tests including unit tests, component tests, integration tests, functional tests, performance tests, scenario tests and interoperability tests
- Support the team in crafting reliable, portable, accurate and credible tests, and in integrating them into CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborate with team members on improving team's test coverage, release velocity and production health
- Design and develop test automation for front-end applications and webservices using Groovy/Geb and Java/ Client
- Participate in application code and test code reviews with rest of the Scrum team
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software engineering or related field
- Experience with SQL Programming and Data use SQL queries
- 4 to 9 years of experience testing and automating Java applications including event-based microservices.
- Working experience with : Object Oriented Programming Languages (Java, C#, Groovy, etc.); RESTful web services; Jenkins; Git
- Cloud application testing experience (AWS preferred)
Preferred Experience:
- Experience using UI test automation frameworks (Playwright, Selenium, Karate, etc.)
- Experience testing and automating webservices ( Client, RestAssured, JMeter, SoapUI, etc.)
- Experience investigating and debugging issues with front-end applications and webservices
- Experience testing Angular web applications
- Knowledge of software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Experience in delivering software in the Agile environment.
Please see the below pay rate range for the work location of Rhode Island only : $45.71-$85.71 per hour.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
