As a Security Officer – Hospital Security Specialist in Pittsburgh, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more.

As a PATROL_UNARMED officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned hospital areas, providing a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents and support a welcoming environment for staff, patients, and visitors. Your role includes conducting routine patrols, assisting with access control, and responding to security-related situations with professionalism and empathy. What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for healthcare locations.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and address potential concerns.
• Observe and report any security-related incidents or hazards as directed by Allied Universal and site leadership.
• Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unwanted activity and provide reassurance to patients, visitors, and/or staff within the healthcare environment.
• Assist with access control procedures by monitoring entrances and/or exits and verifying the credentials of individuals entering the location.
• Support crowd management and/or visitor management as needed, especially during peak hours or special events.
• Complete required documentation and incident reports in a timely and accurate manner according to Allied Universal and site standards.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be able to work in hospital environments, including areas such as morgues, and assist with restraining individuals as needed.
• Vaccination in compliance with hospital requirements is mandatory.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
