Job Description
The Special Projects group focuses on delivering standout specials, securing high-profile exclusives and shaping culturally significant content across ABC News and Disney Entertainment Networks, including Disney+ and Hulu. This is a unique opportunity to learn from world-class producers and contribute to some of the most high-profile editorial and entertainment projects at Disney Entertainment Networks.
**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Conduct research, fact-check existing work, and prepare regular reports and summaries - you'll have tasks that you own completely and will provide regular assistance on others.
+ Screen and route phone calls and emails to and from top executives and producers across ABC News and The Walt Disney Company.
+ Perform various administrative duties, including handling sensitive information and finances.
+ Manage and coordinate multiple schedules across teams and departments.
+ Assist with special content projects, including coordinating travel, logistics, and production deadlines.
+ Draft letters, emails, and slide decks on behalf of your leader(s) and proofread documents created by others.
+ Pitch original story ideas and research characters for potential segments.
+ Assist with the booking process, including coordinating interviews and guest appearances.
+ Digitize and log media content, ensuring it is organized and accessible for the production team.
+ Organize and maintain systems for tracking production flow and deliverables.
**Basic Requirements:**
+ Minimum 2 years in a newsroom environment or administrative support experience
+ Sharp written and verbal communication skills, including flawless grammar and a rich vocabulary
+ Interest in entertainment, current affairs, world events, pop culture
+ Demonstrated experience (academic or internship) in broadcast or print journalism
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment while prioritizing deadlines/deliverables
+ Strong organizational skills, able to meet deadlines, attention to detail, and work well under pressure
+ Desire to immerse yourself fully and learn all aspects of the business
+ Complete reliability handling confidential, often highly sensitive information
+ Some flexibility in your schedule - we value work/life balance, but in a pinch, a bit more time is needed
+ A highly professional demeanor, positive outlook, and a can-do attitude
+ Experience with travel planning, managing budgets, and expense reporting
**Preferred Requirements:**
+ Strong editorial skills
+ Strong proficiency with all types of computers, phones, and office equipment, as well as mastery of Microsoft Office programs, SAP, Confluence, Concur, and working in a Windows environment
+ Foreign language proficiency a plus
**Preferred Education:**
+ BA or BS from a 4-year accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
The hiring range for this position in New York is $56,600 to $75,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
