Partner - General Liability - Insurance Defense (White Plains, NY)

Chartwell Law, a fast-growing civil litigation firm with nearly 300 attorneys in 30+ offices nationwide, invites an experienced Partner in General Liability - Insurance Defense to join our team in White Plains, NY. Primary Duties

• File review and legal analysis of claims and causes of action
• Extensive legal research and drafting of substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
• Annual billable amount of 1,950 hours required
• Represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions
• Draft and respond to discovery requests
• Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses
• Trial preparation and attendance
• Some travel may be required

Requirements

• 10+ years of civil litigation experience with an emphasis in insurance defense
• Familiar with handling civil cases from beginning to end
• Experience taking and defending depositions, including 30(b)(6) and expert depositions; drafting and arguing substantive motions; attending hearings and trials
• Experience participating in negotiations and mediations
• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school
• Admitted to practice in NY; admission in other states is a plus
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong research abilities and written and oral communication skills
• Strong work ethic, ability to self-manage and work in a team environment
• Must respond promptly to e-mail and phone inquiries
• Excellent client skills and telephone manner
• Salary range: $100,000 $165,000
