MATERIALS SPECIALIST - CASTING AND 3D PRINTING RESPONSIBILITIES: Program, operate, and maintain polymer 3D printers to support casting operations Provide hand finishing and assembly for printed components that meet critical dimensional tolerances Collaborate with equipment suppliers, internal experts, and other resources to define the best operations for fabricating plastic, wax, foam patterns, or ceramic shells Take initiative in problem solving, cost reductions, and process improvement Work with design engineers and tooling engineers to take products from design to production Work with quality engineers to reduce defects and maintain high yield Provide hands-on support to manufacturing and test areas when developing prototype and production hardware Travel to suppliers when necessary

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

2+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing or production environment Hands-on experience creating 3-D models or products

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in a creative or engineering discipline Demonstrated professional track record of creative problem solving, cost reductions, and process improvement Experience taking products from design to production Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization Excellent attention to detail Experience with 3D printers Experience with investment casting
