Library of Congress - Kluge Fellows in the Humanities and Social Sciences The John W. Kluge Center welcomes applications from scholarsfor research in an array of subjects supported by Library of Congress collections and digital resources. All nationalities eligible. The current fellowship tracks are currently accepting applications: The Kluge Fellowship,Fellowship in Digital Studies,David B. Larson Fellowship in Health and Spirituality, and thePhilip Lee Phillips Society Fellowship. Fellows Receive: $5,000 monthly stipend Individual carrels within the Thomas Jefferson Building at the Library of Congress to pursue their work Book delivery at the Library of Congress Access to Library of Congress special collections and staff resources About the Kluge Fellowship: The Kluge Center encourages humanistic and social science research that makes use of the Library's large and varied collections. Interdisciplinary and cross-cultural research is particularly welcome in the Kluge Fellowship program, which is open to scholars who received their terminal degree within the past seven years. Up to 12 fellowships are offered to scholars in the humanities, social sciences, and professional fields such as architecture or law, for periods of four to 11 months. About the Kluge Fellowship in Digital Studies: The Kluge Fellowship in Digital Studies provides an opportunity for scholars to utilize digital methods, the Library’s large and varied digital collections, curatorial expertise, and an emerging community of digital scholarship practitioners to engage in interdisciplinary and cross-cultural research. The fellowship supports a wide array of academic work that encompasses digital scholarship, digital humanities, data science, data analysis, data visualization, and digital publishing. Open to scholars from all disciplines. Up to three fellowships will be awarded for periods of up to 11 months. About the David B. Larson Fellowship in Health and Spirituality The David V. Larson Fellowship in Health and Spirituality promotes meaningful, scholarly study of health and spirituality. It seeks to encourage the pursuit of scholarly excellence in the scientific study of the relation of religiousness and spirituality to physical, mental, and social health. In addition to collections of the Library of Congress, special arrangements may be made with the National Library of Medicine for access to its materials. Up to two fellowships are awarded for a period of six to 12 months. About the Philip Lee Phillips Society Fellowship: The Philip Lee Phillips Society Fellowship provides an onsite residency for the purpose of research in the history of cartography, GIS, digital humanities or a related field, and requires the investigation and utilization of materials from the collections of the Geography & Map Division.
