Proactive Technology Management is looking for an experienced, creative, and detail-oriented IT Support Technician in the Detroit Metro area to join our team. Location:

We are looking for someone to work full time in the Detroit Metro area. This is a hybrid position that will include both remote and onsite work.

Microsoft 365 Security & Breach Remediation

• Secure and configure Microsoft 365 environments to align with regulatory and security best practices
• Identify and remediate threats within Microsoft 365, including DLP, sensitivity labels, and threat detection tools
• Support clients through security incidents with technical guidance and calm, clear communication

Policy Writing

• Draft security policies tailored to each client's environment, regulatory needs, and vendor relationships using ControlMap as a guide
• Write clearly, professionally, and accurately with no use of generative AI; this is a high-integrity writing role
• Communicate the purpose and impact of policies in practical terms clients can understand

Security & Risk Assessments

• Lead vendor and cyber insurance assessments, from simple questionnaires to complex, evidence-based reviews
• Analyze penetration test results and develop actionable remediation plans
• Coordinate with internal teams to address vulnerabilities and compliance gaps

Compliance Support

• Demonstrate working knowledge of SOC2, ISO, and similar frameworks
• Guide and support clients through audit preparation and remediation

Requirements

This is a fast-paced and dynamic position requiring a strong grasp of security fundamentals. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented security professional who can write clear, customized policies, guide clients through complex assessments, and handle sensitive situations with confidence. This role requires strong communication, technical know-how, and the ability to work independently.

Must Have:

• 5+ years of IT Support experience
• 5+ years of Security experience
• Extensive experience configuring and remediating Microsoft 365 environments for security and compliance
• Extensive experience leading vendor risk, cyber insurance, and compliance assessments with minimal oversight
• Above and beyond customer service
• Creative mindset

Good To Have:

• Bachelor's degree
• IT-related certifications
• MSP Experience
• Experience working directly with auditors or certification bodies
• Background in client-facing roles during security incidents or remediation projects

Responsibilities:

• Monday - Friday schedule
• One Saturday per month for the first 18 months
• Some travel may be required
