Job Description
Job Purpose The Internal Auditor is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the hospital's compliance program to ensure all systems, operations, and initiatives align with applicable federal, state, and local regulations along with hospital accreditations. This role provides guidance in promoting ethical conduct, risk mitigation, and adherence to internal policies. The Internal Auditor also manages the hospital's contract compliance processes ensuring all agreements are current, properly documented, and in alignment with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications Education:
Master's degree in accounting, business, finance or related field preferred; bachelor's degree required.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in audit, compliance, or related business experience. Healthcare experience preferred.
License/Certification/Credential:
CPA Required, Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duty

Compliance Program Oversight: Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the hospital's compliance program in alignment with legal and regulatory requirements. Evaluate hospital practices and projects to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and internal policies.

Collaborate with executive leadership and departments to identify potential compliance risks and support the development of effective action plans. Review operational and documentation processes to verify accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established standards.

Develop and deliver compliance education and training programs for staff and leadership.

Contract Management: Serve as the administrative lead for hospital contract management processes. Maintain records of all active and expired contracts, ensuring files are accurate, complete, and easily accessible. Track contract timelines and proactively coordinate renewals, expirations, and updates with department leaders. Confirm that all required supporting documentation (insurance certificates, business associate agreements, licensing, etc.) is up to date and on file. Conduct annual vendor and contract reviews in coordination with department heads to confirm ongoing approval and compliance.

Partner with Legal to ensure all contracts have undergone required legal review and approval prior to execution.
