Claremont Care Center is looking to hire an experienced Activities Director to their team. Must have prior experience working in healthcare facilities and be a Certified Activities Director. Responsibilities Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the activity programs of this facility. Assist in the development, administering, and coordinating of department policies and procedures. Keep abreast of current federal and state regulations, as well as professional standards of practice, and make recommendations on changes in policies and procedures to the Administrator. Review department policies and procedures, at least annually, and participate in making recommended changes. Develop and implement policies and procedures for the identification of medically related activity needs of the resident. Participate in community planning g related to the interests of the facility and the services and needs of the resident and family. Participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments. Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submitting such to the Administrator as required. Qualifications Must possess, as a minimum, two (2) years of college. Degree preferred but not necessary. Must be a qualified occupational therapist, art therapist, music therapist, dance therapist, or recreation therapist. Must have completed a training course approved by this state. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must be knowledgeable of regulations governing activity services in nursing care facilities. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. Have two years of experience in a social or recreational program within the past five years, one year of which was full-time in client activities and programs in a mental health setting.
